Mindfulness Grief & Loss Support Group

  • Mindfulness Care Center San Francisco USA (map)

Mindfulness Grief and Loss Support Group.
We meet the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month.

Grief is a natural state of the heart to be acknowledged. It''s not something we "get over" though we must "pass through." Grief and loss appear in many forms and quite often may feel overwhelming. It touches all of us at some point, though often our culture does not give us the time or support we need to heal, leaving us feeling isolated and unsure.

Through group sharing that utilizes mindfulness reflective skills and contemplative reflection we can begin to feel whole and safe even in the midst of tremendous grief. Our ongoing monthly group provides an opportunity for coming together with others, so that we can be heard and become more embodied around the losses and griefs of our life.

The grief and loss group is offered on a dana/donation basis. No one turned away due to lack of funds. Mindfulness Care Center programs are for everyone to gain new insights into life, themselves and inner healing.

Facilitated by Rik Center, a long time SEP - Somatic Experiencing Stress and Trauma Counselor/Practitioner & Mindfulness Meditation Teacher.
Rik has served as a Buddhist/Interfaith Chaplain at San Francisco General Hosptial and CPMC Hospitals. He presently sits of the Professional Advisory Group at CPMC/Sutter Health Hospitals for the Spiritual Care Department. Rik has a private practice which focuses on healing stress, unresolved traumatic anxieties, and PTSD, along with offering grief and spiritual counseling support. Rik leads a weekly Sunday Morning and Tuesday Evening mindful meditation.
