Open To Beginners or Advanced Meditation Practitioners.
Our group utilizes a vipassana practice of “insight awareness” meditation which offers us the opportunity to slow down and look within.
“The depth of sitting in stillness with a compassionate heart is limitless.”
The evening consists of a 35 minute sitting, talk and discussion.
The Tuesday Evening Meditation class is offered on a dana/donation basis, we are supported by the practice of shared generosity. No one turned away due to lack of funds. Suggested dana/donation of $10-$20 supports our renting of the space and the work of our nonprofit the Mindfulness Care Center. We are here for everyone to gain new insights into life, themselves and inner healing.
The Tuesday Evening Meditation is led by Rik Center, Co-Founder of the MCC/Mindfulness Care Center. Rik is a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, SE/Somatic Experiencing Stress and Trauma Counselor/Practitioner, plus he has served as a Buddhist/Interfaith Chaplain at San Francisco Genera and CPMCl Hospital. He facilitates and leads a variety of mindfulness classes based around embodied practices of healing stress, unresolved anxieties, grief and losses. Rik has a private practice working one-on-one with his clients that focuses on healing high levels of unresolved traumatic anxiety and PTSD along with offering grief and spiritual counseling. Rik began his meditation practice in the late 80’s and has sat over 365 days in Meditation Retreats, h has trained and practiced at Spirit Rock and IMC. Rik's spiritual community and practice is now with Abhayagiri a “Theravada Thai Forest Monastery” in Redwood Valley practicing in the Ajahn Chah Lineage.
Rik's private practice and work with clients focuses on healing high levels of stress, unresolved traumatic anxiety and PTSD along with offering grief and spiritual counseling. Rik is a member of the USABP/United States Association Of Body Psychotherapy.
